Artist's Comments

He was called Bloodied Thorn of the Perfect Rose. It was not his name, but that was something long forsaken, part of the price he payed for his power. His name, his soul, his humanity... He had given them up easily for the chance to live forever, to do great things. To be the princeling he always knew he was.
Sometimes he was haunted by a past that wasn't his, memories that came entangled with the power, of a woman, beautiful and good who had been gifted with her power by the Unconquered Sun. Memories of life and love and beauty, tinged with betrayal. But it was the warmth that hurt more than the pain. Warmth he would never again know in the depths of the Underworld, a slave of Oblivion on a gilded chain.

Thorn, and.. probably Fragrant Petal Fascination Kata, a charm in a Martial Art he was told he couldn't learn, that only the Children of the Sun could learn. To prove everyone wrong, he sought out one of his Mistress' pet Solars and made her teach him what she knew.


Time taken: Oh gods. Too long. Way too long. 15-20 hours, maybe? Something close.
Tools: Photoshop CS. All of it, sketch to sparkles.

Not ideal, but I think this is probably the best work I've done yet.

Ah wow cool!! I really like this! the colouring is really cool! One problem i see is just that his head is a little too big... i do that all the time with my pics too LOL :+fav:

Wow... the time taken, totally worth it. The picture came out completely beautiful. His outfit rocks. His hair is beautiful. The hands look like they could use a bit of work, though... maybe thicken the fingers a smidge? Still beter than what I can do though. XD;

I know.. the hands were better in the sketch.. kinda got a little messed up in the inking/coloring.. unlike almost everything else, which improved. Argh.
